Alas for those who turn their eyes from zebras and dream of dragons! If we cannot learn to take joy in the merely real, our lives shall be empty indeed.
A phenomenon shouldn't have to be unknowable or irreducible in order to be worth taking joy in, because nothing is inherently mysterious. Any mysterious inexplicability that we percieve is only an artifact of our own ignorance. The "merely real" is all we can ever have.
